Our Leadership Team
Experience matters. Accountability matters more.
Our leadership team brings decades of combined experience in construction, operations, and business growth. Every project we take on is backed by people who know the work, stand behind it, and treat your investment like their own.
The Puetz Code
Our Core Values: These three values decide who we hire and who we fire, which projects we take on, and how we handle the issues that don't have an easy answer. They're the standard every person at Puetz Construction is held to — on the good days and the not so good ones.
Whatever It Takes
We’re ready to go the extra mile for our customers & our community. From finding clever solutions for tough problems to delivering quality in every project, we're committed to getting the job done right.
Grow Or Die
We're all about personal growth, not just at work but in every aspect of life. We're a team that's continually learning and growing to be the best people for our families, community, and our clients!
Extreme Ownership
Our word is our bond, which means fixing mistakes even if they're not our mistakes. We take care of it to take care of you. It's not just about fixing mistakes; it's about showing our commitment by tackling any challenge head-on.
Founder & Owner
Justin Puetz
Justin brings a rare mix of hands-on trade experience, entrepreneurial drive, and strategic leadership to Puetz Construction. Raised on a southeastern Minnesota farm, he started his first business at 10, selling sweet corn off the highway from a four wheeler and a little green wagon. That drive led to flipping houses and, in 2017, to Puetz Construction, built on one goal: a white glove experience in a blue collar industry. Today Puetz is one of the region’s highest-rated and fastest-growing construction companies, with a following well beyond the job site, and Justin leads by its core values: Whatever It Takes, Grow or Die, and Extreme Ownership.
At home, his life centers on his wife, Taige, and their three kids, Sarah, Slater, and Swayze. He’s a committed supporter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF.org), a cause close to home, as Slater was born with cystic fibrosis. Whether he’s on a job site or in the stands cheering on his kids, Justin leads the same way he lives: whatever it takes.
GET AFTER IT.
President
Gary Hitterdal
Gary brings more than three decades of executive leadership to Puetz Construction, where he oversees company operations, drives strategic growth, and holds every project to a standard that doesn’t just meet expectations — it exceeds them. As a longtime Chief Operating Officer and Chief Development Officer, Gary has spent his career helping companies grow without letting quality slip — which, for a Puetz Construction client, that means projects run tight, standards are held as we scale, and craftsmanship that never takes a back seat to speed.
After three decades in the C-suite, Gary could have gone anywhere. He chose a growing regional contractor because he saw a rare thing — a company already doing so many things right, and a real chance to help shape what it becomes.
Away from the office, Gary’s usually on his motorcycle somewhere in the hills, in a deer stand, or spending quality time with his wife Paula, their two kids, and his beloved pup, Archie.
